CommsDay Summit Gives Back To People In Need

Volunteers at CommsDay 2017

Delegates and sponsors attending this year’s CommsDay Summit in Sydney generously supported Telco Together, pledging almost $38,000 during Monday’s dinner event, declaring a strong show of support towards helping Australians affected by homelessness and food security, mental health and Indigenous health issues.

CommsDay have been long-standing supporters of the Foundation and its vision to unite the telco industry to collaboratively give back, since Telco Together’s launch in 2012. The Foundation was the official charity partner at the Summit for the first time in 2016 and returned this year to an even greater show of support from sponsors and delegates, whose fundraising efforts doubled that of year one.

Renee Bowker, CEO of Telco Together Foundation said:” The CommsDay Summit is a fantastic, thought-provoking, industry conference that I thoroughly enjoyed being involved with as MC over the two days. A big thanks to CommsDay and to Superloop who generously supported our fundraising raffle at the Superloop sponsored Monday evening dinner, resulting in a huge outcome towards helping Australians in need.”

All prizes for fundraising activities at this event were donated by members of the telco industry including the Vocus Group, Inabox, Superloop and Equinix. Three Vocus Group employees also volunteered their timeafter work to enthusiastically manage hectic raffle ticket sales within the room, making this result a truly collaborative industry fundraising effort.

100% of the funds raised will go directly to Telco Together’s Community Partners who run programs helping people in need across areas such as homelessness and food security, mental health and Indigenous health.
