Telco Together was proud to be the 2016 Cisco Live Melbourne event Charity Partner last week, resulting in over $17,000 raised for our Community Partners, eight tonnes of food packed for Australians in need - equivalent to 16,000 nutritious meals - and the creation of a unique opportunity to raise awareness for disadvantaged Australians among the 4000+ Cisco Live Melbourne delegates in attendance.

The Foundation's Cisco Live event partnership was significantly enhanced this year by incorporating an interactive SecondBite volunteer station, open to all attendees. This bustling volunteer station provided a unique opportunity for delegates to give back during down times by helping to pack food for vulnerable Australians via SecondBite – one of Telco Together’s Community Partners, who rescue and redistribute fresh food to disadvantaged Australians. It also provided a great experience for attendees to learn how Telco Together's Community Partner SecondBite is making a real difference to communities in need nationally.

The Cisco Live Melbourne conference is Cisco's premier education and training destination for IT professionals worldwide and as Charity Partner, Telco Together brings a strong community element to this highly regarded, broadly attended industry and this was the third year in a row that Cisco Australia have invited the Foundation to partner with them.

Fundraising activities included a silent charity auction and raffle, donation boxes, a Text Giving campaign and donations from Cisco Australia.
